Kiss Me, I'm Sauced! St. Patrick's Day Night Market
Windy City Beards will be out tomorrow night getting Sauced! What could be better then joining us for for some St. Paddy's day festivities?
Celebrate Chicago's favorite adopted holiday, the Day of St. Patrick, by breaking out your inner irishman for a night of eating and drinking Sauced-style. “Kiss Me, I’m Sauced” will be the words on everyone’s lips, when they are not busy eating sausages, dumplings and Royal Pies.
There will be no green beer, but there will be craft beer as well as maybe a green cocktail or two from Chicago Distilling Company.
Come for the food, stay for the assortment of local goods for sale, and never leave because the DJ just won't stop spinning your favorite tunes. Per usual, the event is free and open to the portion of the public that are older than 21.

Chicagoland Beard & Mustache Competition
On August 30, 2014, The Beards of the Old Northwest - Chicago Chapter, The Chicago Beardsmen, and the Chicago Beard & Mustache Club will be hosting our first ever joint competition here in the Chicagoland area. We will be offering 10 categories for you facial hair fanatics to choose from:
1. Whiskerina Creative Beard
Whiskerinas create their own beard or mustache from any material. It can be real hair, pinecones, roses, chainsaws or whatever the heart desires. The winning beard/mustache should be a work of art and something to be admired. Only women can compete in this category.
2. Whiskerina Realistic Beard
Whiskerinas create their own beard or mustache from fake or real hair, making them look as realistic as possible. The winning beard/mustache should be a work of art and something to be admired. Only women can compete in this category.
3. Partial Beard Natural
The partial beard encompasses a wide variety of styles, from the Alaskan whaler beard, to chops and everything else in between. When rating beards consider how you would compare that beard to similar styles, no products or aids are allowed.
4. Partial Beard Freestyle
The partial beard encompasses a wide variety of styles, from the Alaskan whaler beard, to chops and everything else in between. When rating beards consider how you would compare that beard to similar styles. Styled beards are allowed and creativity should be rewarded. Products are allowed.
5. Natural Mustache
Mustache hair is the slowest growing facial hair. Length shows a commitment to the competitor's mustache. Sideburns cannot be lower than earlobes and no additional facial hair is permitted on the jaw or lower lip. You will be looking for the natural shape of the mustache as well as the density and length.
6. Styled Mustache
Mustache hair is the slowest growing facial hair. Length shows a commitment to the competitor's mustache. Sideburns cannot be lower than earlobes and no additional facial hair is permitted on the jaw or lower lip. For a styled mustache consider the shape and for a freestyle mustache consider the creativity. Styling products are allowed.
7. Full Beard Freestyle
This should be one of the most fun categories. Contestants will show a freestyle beard. Creativity is the key with freestyle beards and anything goes with the exception of hair extensions or false hair. Styling products and props are allowed.
8. Full Beard Natural 0" - 6"
Growing a full natural beard is a testament to patience, good genetics, and good beard maintenance. Many beards hit "terminal" length where they can't grow beyond certain point because of breakage. Length should be highly regarded, but so should color, density, and general epicness of the beard. Keep an eye out to see if the mustache matches the epicness of the beard. No styling products or coloring allowed. 0" - 6" category. Measured from the bottom of the chin.
9. Full Beard Natural 6" - 12"

Each category will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. At the end of the competition, chosen from the 1st place winners, a Best-In-Show will be awarded with a special prize that is hard to believe we even came up with!
Check-in and registration for the competition will begin at 3:00pm. The competition will run from 4:00pm until roughly 8:00pm. Competitor registration prior to the day of the competition will be $10, and $12 the day of the competition. Spectator registration prior to the day of the competition will be $5, and $6 the day of the competition.
We have some great prizes in store for our winners donated by some great sponsors, and all the proceeds from the event will be donated to a great charity, INK 180. INK 180 transforms the painful reminders of the destructive situations into beautiful art by covering or removing the tattoos left from a former life in a gang or enslaved by human trafficking.
We hope to see all of you on August 30, 2014 at 3:00pm, Beard On!
Spectator $5.00 ($6.17 w/service fee)
For those planning to watch, not compete in the event.
Competitor $10.00 ($11.34 w/service fee)
For those planning to compete, not just watch.
